I'm excited about externship. Truly, I am. Throughout the next month, I'll be getting a taste of what it feels like to be an entrepreneur, something I've been striving towards since junior year. I finally got a hold of my mentor on the phone yesterday, and he said I'll be working from 6AM-6PM, This will be fun, haha!
Every day during these 12 hours I will be performing various tasks and complete certain assignments, per se. Writing business plans, learning marketing, photography of their products, and hopefully some traveling. All of this work will contribute to DizzyDoc, the startup company my mentor, Dr. Ian Purcell, is forming. Dr. Ian Purcell is a neurologist that designed what he's titled DizzyDoc Goggles. You connect your phone and wear these goggles, follow the instructions given to you, and the motions you perform will 'cure' the vertigo episode one is experiencing. This is the extent of my knowledge on this product right now. As mentioned before, Dr. Ian is my mentor, a friend, and a client. Ian is my best friend's Dad, so I have known him for quite some time now, almost 10 years. We've gone snowboarding together, traveled to Maui, and watched great movies in the LOT together. I'm excited to start working with him and test my discipline. However, I am worried about the same thing I'm excited about. The hours will be long and rigorous. I guess I should have been careful what I wished for!
