2 People, 1 Experience At my internship site, there are two people in specific I am grateful for. Darian Robles, and Adam I-Don't-Know-His-Last-Name. I am not mentioning my mentor here because I see it as an opportunity to branch out. Darian Robles is also an intern from HTH, but he's not just anybody to me. I've known him since first grade and he is a very close friend. That being said, highschool created some distance between us. Both of us will be attending UCSD in the fall and this internship has really helped light a spark under our relationship. Seeing each other every day, traveling to San Francisco, and being able to reminisce on old times has strengthened our bond more and set us up to be even better friends in college. As for Adam, he is one of our coworkers at the clinic. Adam loves to crack jokes, make dumb comments, hold an interesting conversation, and truly interacts with me as more of an adult, less of an 'intern'. He is a genuine guy who I can be myself around - which I am very appreciative of in such a professional practice. If I had to choose one experience from externship as my "golden ticket" I'd chose our trip to San Francisco. This probably doesn't come as a surprise. Darian and I planned this trip, got around town, made housing accommodations, and had a great time all by ourselves, We planned everything AND it all happened! Nothing major went wrong and all of it was good memories. Not only this, but the photos we produced together for Ian came out incredibly - the whole clinic loved them. Thanks, Doc All of this being said, my thank you note will not be sent to either of them. I will be extending a thank you to my mentor, Dr. Ian Purcell, in appreciation of all the experiences and opportunities he's provided me.
